NDIS Positive Behaviour Support

At ConnexCare, we understand that every behaviour has a reason behind it. If you or a loved one experiences behavioural challenges, our team is here to provide compassionate and effective support to help develop positive, constructive ways of responding.

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach focuses on understanding the underlying causes of behaviours of concern and creating personalised strategies that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive change. This evidence-based approach is ideal for both children and adults living with disability who may display challenging behaviours.

With ConnexCare, you are supported every step of the way by a dedicated team committed to helping you achieve greater stability, independence, and quality of life.

How We Can Help with Positive Behaviour Support

Our team of qualified and experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioners are dedicated to helping you understand and manage behaviours of concern in a supportive and empowering way.

We begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment to understand the reasons behind certain behaviours. From there, we work closely with you, your family, and your support network to create a personalised Behaviour Support Plan designed to promote positive change and enhance wellbeing.

Our plans aim to make challenging behaviours unnecessary by identifying and removing the triggers or reinforcements that encourage them. We then focus on teaching alternative, more positive behaviours to help you communicate and interact effectively.

Your Behaviour Support Plan may include strategies for:

Improving communication and social skills

Adjusting the environment

Developing safe and effective responses

Stress, anxiety, and anger management techniques

A well-designed behaviour support plan can lead to more effective communication, stronger relationships, improved community participation, and greater independence in daily life.

The strength of Positive Behaviour Support lies in its understanding that every behaviour has a purpose. When we identify what an individual is trying to express or achieve through their behaviour, we can help replace it with safer and more appropriate ways of communicating.
